For me easy means quick with minimal preparation and clean up time. I don't mind if there are 10 ingredients if I just have to put them all in 1 bowl and mix. I don't mind getting out a blender, or my hand whisk to whisk egg whites, but I always think twice before trying a recipe with 6-8 steps each of which involves getting a different bowl/pan dirty.
Here are a selection of Jewish recipes some of which are traditional, all of which are easy. They all share the following features: quick to prepare, minimal number of ingredients, no separating eggs, few bowls/utensils meaning minimal clean up time.
Many of these recipes use store cupboard ingredients which you are likely to have on hand, which makes preparation even easier. If you are popping to the supermarket to pick up one or two missing items, make sure you keep in mind
supermarket psychology
and don't spend more than you planned.
Particularly around the times of the Jewish holidays when there is so much cooking to do it's nice to have some easy standbys. Enjoy!!
